Other major supervisory skills include the knowledge required to research and requisition repair parts, establish control survey points, understand traverses and circuits, create topographic maps, stake out construction projects, employ conventional and Global Navigation Survey Systems (GNSS); review and edit construction drawings; and oversee various welding and cutting operations. CBCM supervises preparation of records, schedules, planning and estimating material and labor, quality control, progress reports and blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
