Environmental Engineers

How to prepare: Develop a sample environmental control design and compare your engineering education with target employers' requirements. Independent practice or signing/sealing designs may require state PE licensure, so check the rules for your intended state and responsibilities rather than treating licensure as mandatory for every entry-level role.
What the civilian work involves
- Design, or supervise the design of, systems, processes, or equipment for control, management, or remediation of water, air, or soil quality.
- Collaborate with environmental scientists, planners, hazardous waste technicians, engineers, experts in law or business, or other specialists to address environmental problems.
