Oral Pathologist
Military experience examining and diagnosing oral and paraoral conditions and directing an oral pathology service directly supports civilian oral pathology practice.
How to prepare: Request an assessment of your dental education and specialty training from the intended state's dental board, and a credentialing review from prospective employers. State dental licensure is required, usually involving an accredited DDS or DMD and written and clinical exams; specialty practice also requires postdoctoral training, generally an accredited residency, with exact requirements determined by the target jurisdiction.
