1S Suicide Intervention Trainer
Overview
Suicide Intervention Trainers conduct the two day Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training workshop for caregivers. They teach participants to provide suicide first aid, address individual safety needs, identify elements of effective safety plans, and recognize the importance of prevention resources, life promotion, and self care.

What the Work Involves
- Prepare and maintain records and reports, such as budgets, personnel records, or training manuals.
- Conduct chemical dependency program orientation sessions.
- Counsel clients or patients, individually or in group sessions, to assist in overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life, or making changes.
- Develop and review service plans in consultation with clients and perform follow-ups assessing the quantity and quality of services provided.
