40A Space Operations
Overview
A Space Operations officer coordinates space operations and advises commanders at all levels of command. The officer may serve as a principal staff officer, lead or support space support teams, teach at Army schools, or perform research, planning, and operational assignments in Space and Missile Defense Command.

What the Work Involves
- Confer with board members, organization officials, or staff members to discuss issues, coordinate activities, or resolve problems.
- Direct, plan, or implement policies, objectives, or activities of organizations or businesses to ensure continuing operations, to maximize returns on investments, or to increase productivity.
- Prepare or present reports concerning activities, expenses, budgets, government statutes or rulings, or other items affecting businesses or program services.
- Plan or coordinate investigation and resolution of customers' reports of technical problems with aircraft or aerospace vehicles.
- Write technical reports or other documentation, such as handbooks or bulletins, for use by engineering staff, management, or customers.
