Overview
Visual Information Operations Chiefs plan, program, and supervise visual information support for Army, Joint, and Combined operations. They manage documentation, multimedia illustration, television production and distribution, equipment repair, and supporting facilities, and supervise preventive maintenance checks and services on assigned vehicles and power generators.

What the Work Involves
- Plan details such as framing, composition, camera movement, sound, and actor movement for each shot or scene.
- Direct live broadcasts, films and recordings, or non-broadcast programming for public entertainment or education.
- Compose and frame each shot, applying the technical aspects of light, lenses, film, filters, and camera settings to achieve the effects sought by directors.
- Operate television or motion picture cameras to record scenes for television broadcasts, advertising, or motion pictures.
- Confer with directors, sound and lighting technicians, electricians, and other crew members to discuss assignments and determine filming sequences, desired effects, camera movements, and lighting requirements.
