Overview
A child neurologist examines, diagnoses, and treats infants and children with organic disorders, injuries, and diseases of the central nervous system. The neurologist also directs the management of these patients and their conditions.

What the Work Involves

- Order or interpret results of laboratory analyses of patients' blood or cerebrospinal fluid.
- Diagnose neurological conditions based on interpretation of examination findings, histories, or test results.
- Prescribe or administer treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury in infants and children.
