How to prepare: Compare your education and facility-administration experience with target hospital or practice-management openings: a bachelor's degree and relevant administrative or clinical experience are typical, some employers prefer a master's degree, and experience sometimes substitutes for education. Check position-specific licensing before applying, particularly for nursing-home administration or roles requiring an RN or social-worker license.
