How to prepare: Compare your documented education and healthcare leadership experience with hospital or practice administration openings to identify remaining gaps: employers typically seek a bachelor's degree and administrative or clinical healthcare experience, some prefer a master's degree, and experience sometimes substitutes for education. Target roles consistent with your licenses: nursing-home administration requires state licensure, and some other management positions require an RN or social-worker license.
