Overview
Red Team Leaders lead teams that give organizations an independent capability to explore alternatives in plans, operations, concepts, organizations, and capabilities. They examine those alternatives within the operational environment and from the perspectives of partners, adversaries, and others.

- 7G (Red Team Leader (SOCAP)) is an Army Additional Skill Identifier (proponent: U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command), effective 2007-03, not a standalone military occupation.
- Authority scope: "Identifies positions in COL/civilian equivalent and higher level commands/directorates/agencies requiring Soldiers qualified as leader of a Red Team that provides organizations an independent capability to fully explore alternatives in …" Award requirement: "Must have successfully completed the Red Team Leaders Course (9E- SI/ASI7G/920-ASI7G or 9E-SI/ASI7G/920-ASI7G ALT), at the TRADOC G2, Ft Leavenworth, KS."
