Airframe Repair
42775 was Airframe Repair Technician, the 7-skill-level code in the 427X5 Airframe Repair family. The March 1984 Air Force occupational survey explicitly groups 42735, 42755, and 42775. Duties included repairing, modifying, and fabricating aircraft structures and parts. The 7-skill level also covered troubleshooting, inspections, and supervising airframe repair. The report says the family was redesignated from 531X3 to 427X5 in 1977. Stored in X form so service-record skill-level codes resolve to the same specialty. The FAA experience-credit table associates 42775 with both 2A773 Aircraft Structural Maintenance Craftsman and 2A775 Low Observable Aircraft Structural Maintenance Craftsman. That table is not a dated Air Force personnel-conversion order and does not establish a direct successor. Transition status, effective dates, and successor codes therefore remain unverified.
