Aircraft Maintenance Specialist, Jet Aircraft Over Two Engines
Documented in a 1968 Air Force training course and AFM 50-2 (1975). These publication dates do not establish when the specialty began or ended. The E specialization covered jet aircraft with more than two engines. Duties included aircraft inspection, maintenance and crew-chief functions, not engine maintenance alone. AFM 50-2 distinguishes 43151E (specialist) from 43171E (technician). Its retirement date and successor have not been verified. Later use of base code 43151 for Tactical Aircraft Maintenance does not establish this specialization's lineage. Multi-engine is a search alias, not the official title.
