Within machine accounting, Administrative NCO (SSN 0502) used to supervise machine-records coding was directed to code 1402, without abolishing 0502 Army-wide. The appendix also assigns one Control supervisor position coded 0502 to code 3400 with the new title Senior analyst.

5 December 1949 is the regulation's date; the available text does not establish a separate effective date or completion deadline.

In Infantry use, SSN 0502 (Administrative NCO) was restricted, with operations duties reassigned to MOS 1814 or 4814 and intelligence or reconnaissance duties to MOS 1761 or 4761. Specified first-sergeant positions were exceptions, converting to MOS 1812 or 1745.
