652 Title not stated in source

Appendix I deletes Army SSN 652 and directs readers to paragraph 10 rather than naming a single successor. That paragraph permits alternate duty and supervisory titles, but requires the SSN to reflect the soldier's actual occupational specialty.

Documented history

Title not stated in source

The deletion date is not stated. 30 June 1945 is the publication date of Change 2, not an established effective date for the deletion.

  • Appendix I does not state the deleted specialty's title.
  • Promotion requiring no additional basic occupational knowledge leaves the MOS unchanged; supervising a group requiring knowledge of more than one MOS can result in acquiring a new MOS.
  • Paragraph 10's example codes illustrate assignments based on actual duties, not universal successors to SSN 652.
Source extraction notes

Appendix I deletes SSN 652 but provides no explicit SSN successor code. Printed directive: "(See par. 10.)" No paragraph reference, ASTP symbol, or generic gun-crewman instruction was inferred into the SSN namespace. The table does not print the deleted specialty title, so the neutral title placeholder is used. The row-level deletion date is unstated. The citation dates Change 2 to 30 June 1945; that publication date is not an effective deletion date.
