Appendix I deletes SSN 698 but provides no explicit SSN successor code. Printed directive: "Specialty obsolete, no substitute." No paragraph reference, ASTP symbol, or generic gun-crewman instruction was inferred into the SSN namespace. The table does not print the deleted specialty title, so the neutral title placeholder is used. The row-level deletion date is unstated; 1945 records only the year of Change 2 containing this table.
