Source notes

Army Security Agency traffic analysts examined intercepted radio communications patterns, including changes in message volume. The Army's 1964 proficiency-pay regulation identifies MOS 982 as Traffic Analyst. Thomas Kranig's service account records the exact 982.10 notation, while David Weiss's museum oral history describes work under MOS 982. The meaning of the decimal suffix is not independently established here. No activation date, conversion date or direct successor is verified by these sources.
