Supply Administration Man (Mechanized Account)
The DoD manual identifies 3042 as Supply Administration Man - Mechanized Act. on printed p. 191 and Supply Adm. Man-Mechanized Account on p. 190; the display title expands the abbreviation and normalizes punctuation. Its combined 3041-42 description covers clerical and administrative duties for requisitioning, purchasing, receiving, storing, shipping, issuing and accounting for supplies and equipment. The 23 January 1975 Camp Lejeune Globe states that Marines in MOSs 3041 and 3042 will lose those designators and pick up 3043, retitled Supply Administration and Operations Man, open from private through master gunnery sergeant. The article places MOS Manual Change 4 in mid-February but gives no exact day for this conversion; 1975 records the announced conversion year, not the publication date as an effective day. The original establishment date is not documented. The cited direct successor is 3043; later changes to 3043 are separate events.
