In the 2006 MOS manual transition, enlisted MOS 9952, Combatant Diver Marine, was renumbered to 8024. It moved from the reporting MOS category 9000 to the miscellaneous requirements MOS category 8000.

Combatant Diver Marine

The manual was effective 15 May 2006, but personnel implementation was deferred. MARADMIN 329/06 announced the change on 20 July 2006; no separate implementation date for MOS 9952 is given.

  • The earlier officer SSN 9952, Armored Amphibian Tractor Officer, was a separate classification, not the historical equivalent of Combatant Diver Marine.
  • June 1945 is the earlier SSN manual's publication date, not a dated individual conversion. That manual required individual Qualification Card review against job specifications before correcting deleted or changed SSNs.

Appendix B lists SSN 9952, Amphibian Tractor Operator, with suggested conversions to 994, Armored Amphibian Tractor Crewman, or 997, Amphibian Tractor Crewman. The choice was not automatic: each affected Qualification Card had to be reviewed against the manual's job specifications and corrected accordingly.

June 1945 is the manual's publication date. The entry gives no effective conversion date or date of an individual change.

  • The entry does not specify which successor applied to an individual.
  • The manual also uses SSN 9952 for Armored Amphibian Tractor Officer, a distinct entry whose duties should not be attributed to the earlier operator specialty.
