SSN

Navigator-Bombardier

Appendix B identifies SSN 9960 as Navigator-Bombardier under AR 615-26 of September 1942 and its supplements, and suggests SSN 974 for conversion. This was not an automatic replacement: each affected Marine’s qualifications had to be reviewed against the job specifications before reassignment.

June 1945 is the manual’s publication date. No effective date is given for the suggested conversion.

  • No June 1945 Present Title is listed for SSN 9960; the reference to 974 does not establish a fixed transition.
Source extraction notes

Predecessor title from the AR 615-26 column: Navigator-Bombardier. Suggested conversions/remarks: 974. The table gives no row-level effective date. June 1945 is the manual publication date, not an effective conversion date.
