CM Construction Mechanic

In 1964, Construction Mechanic (CM) and EO were combined at pay grade E-9 to form Master Chief Equipmentman (EQCM). This was an E-9 change, not an end to CM at all pay grades.

In 1948, Carpenter's Mate (CM) was merged into the newly established Damage Controlman (DC) rating. Damage Controlman also incorporated Specialist (F) (Fire Fighters), Carpenter's Mate (SR) (Joiners), Carpenter's Mate (SR) (Builders), and Painter.
