<p>Diagnostic radiologists are medical imaging experts who use a variety of imaging procedures to see inside the body to diagnose and, in some cases, treat disease. In modern medical practice, medical imaging is center stage and is ever increasingly involved in the diagnostic work-up and treatment of patients, spanning all ages and every organ system, whether in the emergency department or the outpatient clinic. Navy radiologists are typically hospital-based but also deploy on ships and in austere environments as they are vitally important for warfighter health and survivability.</p> <p>Fellowships are available in the following subspecialties: Breast imaging, Cardiothoracic radiology, Abdominal radiology, Musculoskeletal radiology, Neuroradiology, Pediatric radiology, Nuclear radiology, Emergency radiology, or Interventional radiology.</p>
