Overview
A Special Warfare Limited Duty Officer serves as a technical manager who plans and conducts naval special warfare in riverine, lacustrine, and maritime environments. The officer performs airborne, diving, and explosive demolition operations in accordance with Naval Special Warfare command missions.

What the Work Involves
- Analyze data gathered and develop solutions or alternative methods of proceeding.
- Place explosive charges in holes or other spots; then detonate explosives to demolish structures or to loosen, remove, or displace earth, rock, or other materials.
- Take appropriate safety precautions, such as monitoring dive lengths and depths and registering with authorities before diving expeditions begin.
- Check and maintain diving equipment, such as helmets, masks, air tanks, harnesses, or gauges.
- Direct courses and speeds of ships, based on specialized knowledge of local winds, weather, water depths, tides, currents, and hazards.
