Overview
Aviation Maintenance Limited Duty Officers plan and supervise maintenance programs at the organizational, intermediate, and depot levels. They develop quality assurance standards, review aircraft maintenance records and reports, evaluate maintenance systems and methods, and administer aeronautical material procurement programs.

What the Work Involves
- Set and monitor product standards, examining samples of raw products or directing testing during processing, to ensure finished products are of prescribed quality.
- Review processing schedules or production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, or duty assignments, considering budgetary limitations and time constraints.
- Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures.
- Inspect and monitor work areas, examine tools and equipment, and provide employee safety training to prevent, detect, and correct unsafe conditions or violations of procedures and safety rules.
- Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs.
