Information Systems Technician CWO

Description

Information Systems Technician Chief Warrant Officers support war-fighting capability and readiness of Naval forces through leadership, technical proficiency, and experience. They are the primary manpower source for technically specific billets not best suited for traditional Unrestricted Line, Restricted Line or Staff Corps career path Officers. Using critical enlisted experience, they are committed to the continuous leadership, improvement, training, and mentoring of Sailors. Information System Technicians serve as Officer technical specialist in the field of information systems, communications (fixed/mobile), satellite communications systems, knowledge management, and information assurance/cyber security. They plan and direct the installation of equipment and administer operations and maintenance of data processing installations. They serve as, but are not limited to, Communications Officers Afloat, ADP Manager, or EKMS/KMI Manager, Information Assurance Manager, Naval Computer Telecommunications Area Master Station (NCTAMS) and Naval Computer Telecommunications Station (NCTS) as Joint Fleet Telecommunications Operations Center Watch Officer (JFTOC), Tactical Communications Commands, Naval Special Warfare Groups, Joint Special Operations Command as Battle Watch Captain (BWC), Global Network Operations Center as BWC, Officer in Charge, Cyber Mission Force, Cyber Protection Teams, and C4I Officers in various operational and staff billets.
