Overview

An LCAC Operator operates Landing Craft Air Cushion vehicles during amphibious assault and training operations to and from LHAs, LHDs, LPDs, and LSDs and across surf and beach interfaces. This operator applies amphibious assault tactics, navigation, rules of the road, and radio and visual communication procedures while supervising the LCAC crew.

Captains, Mates, and Pilots of Water Vessels

How to prepare: Assess existing credentials and submit an official military sea-service transcript or assignment history with vessel particulars, routes, underway time, and duties for USCG evaluation toward an MMC and officer endorsement suited to the intended vessel, route, and role before choosing additional training. Plan for the applicable sea-time, approved-training, medical, professional-competence testing, and drug-screening requirements, plus a TWIC where required.
