Instructional Coordinators
Developing and evaluating curricula, conducting instructor evaluations, and supporting instructor in-service training directly align with instructional coordination work.
How to prepare: Build a curriculum-review portfolio containing a sample course revision, an instructor-observation rubric, and an instructor development session plan. School-based roles typically require a master's degree and related teaching or school-administration experience, and public-school positions may require state licensure; corporate curriculum and training roles have different entry requirements.
What the civilian work involves
- Observe work of teaching staff to evaluate performance and to recommend changes that could strengthen teaching skills.
- Plan and conduct teacher training programs and conferences dealing with new classroom procedures, instructional materials and equipment, and teaching aids.
