Description

<p>Naval Aircrewman Master Chief Petty Officer (AWCM), is a senior leadership compression rating, for leaders knowledgeable in the skills and duties performed by personnel in the ratings Naval Aircrewman Mechanical (AWF), Naval Aircrewman (Operator) (AWO), Naval Aircrewman (Tactical Helicopter) (AWR), and Naval Aircrewman (Helicopter) (AWS). The AWCM has supervisory knowledge of aircraft system maintenance and operation to include Sound Navigation and Ranging (SONAR), sonobuoy, Radio Detection and Ranging (RADAR), Electronic Support Measures (ESM), Electro-Optical (EO)/Infrared (IR), Inverse Synthetic Aperture Radar (ISAR), LINK-16 operations, Airborne Mine Countermeasure (AMCM), Tactical Evacuations (TACEVAC), Maritime Patrol and Reconnaissance Aircraft (MPRA) utilizing Mission Acoustic Subsystem (MAS) Identification Friend or Foe/Selective Identification Feature (IFF/SIF), and Electro-Optic/Infrared (EO/IR) sensors to detect, analyze, classify, track, and attack surface and subsurface contacts. Other detailed supervisory knowledge includes support of tactical missions to include Naval Special Warfare (NSW) missions, Search and Rescue (SAR), Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR), Night Vision Device (NVD) operations, navigation, passenger and cargo transport, Vertical Replenishment (VERTREP), Medical Evacuations (MEDEVAC), Special Operations Forces (SOF) insertion and extraction, Personnel Recovery (PR), Direct Action (DA), Anti-Surface Warfare (ASUW), Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance (ISR), Logistics Support (LOG), aerial firefighting operations, and operating Crew Served Weapons (CSW). The AWCM supervises members of a fixed wing/tilt rotor integrated tactical crew aboard aircraft, and various Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV). In addition, the AWCM is responsible for mission support planning and scheduling, safeguarding classified material, ordnance handling, collection and production of intelligence products for theater Commanders and aircrews in support of operations and tactical missions worldwide as well as managing aircrew operations, safety, training, and administration to effectively sustain global warfare readiness.</p>
