Senior Chief Constructionman

Description

<p>Senior Chief Constructionman (CUCS), is a senior leadership compression rating, for leaders knowledgeable in the skills and duties performed by personnel in the ratings Builder (BU), Engineering Aide (EA), and Steelworker (SW). The CUCS plans and supervises tasks required in construction design preparation, surveying, drafting, materials testing, and construction management to include detailed supervisory knowledge of fabrication and erection of pre-engineered structures and K-Spans; build and repair waterfront structures; and demolition of existing structures. Other major supervisory skills include the knowledge required to establish control survey points, run and close traverses, run level circuits, create topographic maps, stake out construction projects, employing conventional and Global Navigation Survey Systems (GNSS); review and edit construction drawings; and oversee various welding and cutting operations. Supervises preparation of timekeeping records, construction schedules, planning and estimating material and labor, quality control, and progress reports. The CUCS is also responsible for maintaining the combat readiness of their assigned personnel, Defense Support of Civil Authorities (DSCA), and Humanitarian Assistance/Disaster Recovery (HA/DR) operations.</p>
