Description

Assists in the performance of all invasive diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral vascular procedures to include coronary artery angiography, peripheral vascular angiography, percutaneous coronary intervention, structural heart interventions, electrophysiology studies and cardiac device implantation. Sets and maintains the sterile field and cares for all sterile instruments. Possesses advance knowledge of radiation safety, ionizing radiation effect on tissue and use of fluoroscopy. Perform and assess all non-invasive cardiac procedures to include echocardiograms, electrocardiograms, exercise/imaging stress tests and pacemaker interrogation. Possesses knowledge in pharmacodynamics of major classifications of cardiac medications. Possesses intimate knowledge in the pharmacodynamics, preparation, administration and monitoring of all invasive cardiac medications to include moderate sedation medications and their reversal agents. Possesses knowledge to direct the management of all cardiac arrest situations and resuscitation efforts.
