Description

Subject Maner Expert and Master Level Diving Corpsman NEC in the supervision of health care for Navy, Marine Corps, and other Diving Platforms. Serves as the Medical Department Representative at various isolated duty stations independent of a medical officer, primarily serving as a non-physician health care provider. Specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of diving disorders, recommend treatment, and oversee the care of diving and hyperbaric illnesses and injury. Qualified to dive and supervise all Air and Mixed Gas USN Diving Apparatus. Performs patient care, readiness and associated administrative, logistical duties, medical intelligence and planning, and manages industrial hygiene surveillance programs. Performs diagnostic procedures, ALS, BLS-I, nursing procedures, minor surgery, basic laboratory procedures, provides case management and consultation to specialty care, and other routine and emergency care. Advise Commanders of the health and medical wellness of the force. Provide medical education and training to command personnel. Senior personnel assigned to shore operational staffs provide medical assistance, training, and inspection services to the operational forces and component units.
