Emergency Medical Technician

Description
Provide out of hospital emergency medical care and transportation for critical and emergent patients who access the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) system. Performs stabilization and safe transport of patients ranging from non-emergency and routine medical transports to life threatening emergencies. Performs as part of a comprehensive EMS response system, under medical oversight; and provides intervention for basic equipment typically found on an ambulance as a critical link between the scene of an emergency and the health care system. Provides Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS), Tier III Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC), Basic Life Support (BLS) to include administration of all approved protocol medication, use of emergency medical equipment and patient handling/patient movement techniques.
