Emergency Medical Technician (Paramedic)

Description
Provides advanced emergency medical care for critical and emergent patients who access the Emergency Medical System (EMS). Possesses the complex knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care and transportation. Independently perform functions as part of a comprehensive EMS response team, under medical oversight most often to be conducted through reach-back for consultation, reviews, and program management. Provides interventions for basic and advanced equipment typically found on an ambulance; and is a link from the scene into the health care system. Provides Advanced Life Support (ALS) level care, Prehospital Trauma Lief Support (PHTLS), Tier IV Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC), Basic Life Support (BLS) to include administration of all approved protocol medication, use of emergency medical equipment and patient handling/patient movement techniques.
