  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

    Support driving vehicles carrying tools and materials to linework sites.

    Eligibility and preparation: Apply through your state of domicile with proof of citizenship or lawful permanent residency. CLP applicants must be at least 18; non-excepted interstate drivers must be at least 21 and meet Part 391 driver qualifications. Pass required knowledge and skills tests and, for a first Class A or B CDL, complete registered-provider entry-level driver training unless exempt. States may waive the skills test for currently licensed military drivers with two years of safe equivalent-vehicle experience and qualifying driving records who apply within one year of leaving the driving position. Military entry-level training exemptions require meeting all applicable 49 CFR 383.77 conditions.
