170D Cyber Capability Developer Technician
Overview
A Cyber Capability Developer Technician analyzes system vulnerabilities, researches products, and develops, documents, and implements software capabilities that operate through cyberspace and the electromagnetic spectrum. The technician leads and trains personnel and advises commanders at all levels on software capability development and implementation.

What the Work Involves
- Perform risk assessments and execute tests of data processing system to ensure functioning of data processing activities and security measures.
- Write, analyze, review, and rewrite programs, using workflow chart and diagram, and applying knowledge of computer capabilities, subject matter, and symbolic logic.
- Develop or direct software system testing or validation procedures, programming, or documentation.
- Modify existing software to correct errors, adapt it to new hardware, or upgrade interfaces and improve performance.
- Assign and review the work of systems analysts, programmers, and other computer-related workers.
