351M Human Intelligence Collection Technician
Overview
A Human Intelligence Collection Technician conducts foreign-language interrogations of informants, prisoners of war, and refugees and applies document exploitation techniques. This technician prepares and disseminates reports, resolves conflicting information, assesses source information, manages human intelligence assets, and assists with long-range planning.

What the Work Involves
- Translate messages simultaneously or consecutively into specified languages, orally or by using hand signs, maintaining message content, context, and style as much as possible.
- Obtain facts or statements from complainants, witnesses, and accused persons and record interviews, using recording device.
- Analyze data gathered and develop solutions or alternative methods of proceeding.
- Record progress of investigation, maintain informational files on suspects, and submit reports to commanding officer or magistrate to authorize warrants.
- Write reports or case summaries to document investigations.
