Photographer's Mate · Merged into PA, effective 1973
The official Historian article explicitly states that in 1973 the Coast Guard combined the Journalist and Photographer's Mate ratings to form Photojournalist. Lewis supplies the Coast Guard historical abbreviation PhoM and the PA successor code but prints 1972; the official Historian article and operator-approved scope control the year, and the discrepancy is retained in the audit.
