An Intelligence Specialist researches, filters, records, analyzes, produces, and disseminates information and intelligence. Depending on rank and assignment, the specialist may supervise intelligence sections or perform collection requirements management, targeting, intelligence analysis, open source intelligence analysis, and intelligence operations duties.

DIA Analysis Officer

Military experience researching, filtering, analyzing, producing, and disseminating intelligence transfers directly to defense intelligence analysis.

How to prepare: Practice a written assessment of foreign military capabilities using public sources to prepare for DIA's writing test and interview. DIA requires U.S. citizenship, a granted security clearance, and employment screening that includes a background inquiry, a drug test, and any required medical or counterintelligence-scope polygraph examinations.

    Eligibility and preparation: Available to DoD civilian and military personnel, including Coast Guard personnel, who perform all-source analysis functions, hold a TS/SCI clearance with access to AGILE on JWICS, and have at least two years of validated DoD all-source analysis experience performing, leading, or enabling analysis within the last five years.
