  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

    Obtain the state-issued license for the class of commercial truck you intend to operate.

    Eligibility and preparation: The CLP minimum age is 18; non-excepted interstate driving requires age 21 and sufficient English proficiency. Applicants must document citizenship or lawful permanent residency and state domicile, meet driving-record and qualification conditions, and pass applicable knowledge and skills tests unless waived. First-time Class A or B applicants must complete entry-level driver training through a registered provider unless an exemption applies; the military exemption depends on meeting all applicable 49 CFR 383.77 conditions.
