2621 Communications Intelligence/Electromagnetic Warfare Operator
Overview
A communications intelligence and electromagnetic warfare operator collects, processes, exploits, disseminates, and analyzes communications signals and digital network systems. The operator searches for electronic communications signals, records and evaluates intercepts, and plans and executes signals intelligence and electromagnetic warfare operations using specialized receivers, computer systems, and related equipment.

What the Work Involves
- Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard information in computer files against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification or disclosure.
- Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments, including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, or other network and system problems, and replace defective components when necessary.
- Define data requirements, and gather and validate information, applying judgment and statistical tests.
- Test faulty equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test equipment or software, and applying knowledge of the functional operation of electronic units and systems.
