Civilian Career Paths

Career associations are editorial assessments of the cited evidence, not an official crosswalk unless the evidence explicitly says so. O*NET supplies civilian occupation information, not proof of a military match. Related experience does not confer civilian qualifications. Tasks and tools below describe civilian work, not military training.

DIA Analysis Officer

Initial analysis, classification, positioning, and reporting of maritime acoustic contacts provide a foundation for DIA's foreign naval capabilities analysis.

How to prepare: Practice writing a concise assessment of foreign naval capabilities using public sources to prepare for DIA's writing test and interview. DIA applicants must be U.S. citizens and complete background vetting and security clearance processing, with required medical examinations, any required counterintelligence-scope polygraph, and drug screening.
