Scuba Diver

A Navy Enlisted Classification: a skill designation sailors hold in addition to their rating.

Description

Performs duties using SCUBA. Conducts day and night general underwater search, detailed ship bottom search and routine inspection using underwater compass, depth indicators, and associated underwater equipment. Performs adjustments and field shop maintenance on SCUBA and underwater accessories. Knows the laws of diving and physics and is able to recognize all types of decompression sickness and diving accidents.
