Civilian Career Paths

Career associations are editorial assessments of the cited evidence, not an official crosswalk unless the evidence explicitly says so. O*NET supplies civilian occupation information, not proof of a military match. Related experience does not confer civilian qualifications. Tasks and tools below describe civilian work, not military training.

DIA Analysis Officer

Strategic debriefing and military human intelligence source operations provide collection-side experience relevant to DIA's defense intelligence analysis work.

How to prepare: Practice an analytical writing sample using public information about foreign military capabilities to prepare for DIA's writing test and interview. DIA requires U.S. citizenship, a granted security clearance and background vetting, including any required medical or counterintelligence-scope polygraph examinations and drug screening.
