CE Construction Electrician
Overview
Construction Electricians install and repair interior and exterior wiring as well as overhead and underground electrical distribution systems. They set up and service power generation and electrical equipment, climb poles and towers with lineman equipment, and support contingency and disaster recovery operations.

What the Work Involves
- Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring or equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes.
- Assemble, install, test, or maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, or fixtures, using hand tools or power tools.
- Climb poles or use truck-mounted buckets to access equipment.
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical distribution and transmission systems, including conduits, cables, wires, and related equipment, such as transformers, circuit breakers, and switches.
- Inspect and test equipment to locate damage or worn parts and diagnose malfunctions, or read work orders or schematic drawings to determine required repairs.
