EA Engineering Aide
Overview
Engineering Aides plan, supervise, and perform construction design preparation, surveying, drafting, materials testing, and construction management. They establish survey controls, create maps and drawings, stake out projects, test construction materials, prepare schedules and estimates, and produce quality control and progress reports.

What the Work Involves
- Prepare and maintain sketches, maps, reports, and legal descriptions of surveys to describe, certify, and assume liability for work performed.
- Verify the accuracy of survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites.
- Compile data required for map preparation, including aerial photographs, survey notes, records, reports, and original maps.
- Check all layers of maps to ensure accuracy, identifying and marking errors and making corrections.
- Produce or update overlay maps to show information boundaries, water locations, or topographic features on various base maps or at different scales.
