Description
An NDT Examiner is an individual examined and certified by the NAVSEA Test Examiner Certification Agency and designated by the Commanding Officer of the activity to conduct, on an individual basis, written, operational, and practical examinations to certify/recertify personnel to the level of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Operator or NDT Inspector, monitors NDT performance of NDT Operators and NDT Inspectors, approves NDT procedures and workmanship standards, and qualify/requalify welders and brazers, in accordance with NAVSEA specifications. They are responsible to review, approve, and oversee the command’s welder/brazer qualification program and approve welder/brazer training per S9074-AQ-GIB-010/248. NDT Examiner is an equivalent term to American Society for Non- destructive Testing (ASNT) Level III.
