MK-41 VLS Baseline V through VII Operation and Maintenance Technician

Description
Operates, inspects, and performs organizational level maintenance on electric-powered guided missile launching systems, missile canister equipment, and ordnance handling maintenance equipment for MK-41 VLS BL V and BL VII configurations. Prepares missile launcher equipment and performs the loading and unloading of gas management equipment and encanistered missiles into the launcher. Perfonns basic troubleshooting using authorized procedures, uses Built-in Test Equipment (BITE) and General Purpose Electrical and Electronic Test Equipment to fault-isolate and replace missile launcher electrical and/or mechanical components at the Lowest Replaceable Unit (LRU) level. Personnel in paygrades E-7 and above will supervise the foregoing, organize and monitor system test teams, and instruct junior personnel in all aspects of their assigned equipment.
