MK-41 Vertical Launching System (VLS) Baseline (BL) III Operation and Maintenance Technician

Description
Operates, inspects and performs organization level maintenance on electric-powered guided missile launching systems, missile canister equipment and ordance handling maintenance equipment for MK41 VLS BL III configurations. Prepares missile launcher equipment and performs the loading and unloading of gas management equipment and encasistered missiles into the launcher. Performs basic troubleshooting using authorized procedures, uses Bult-in Test Equipment (BITE) and General Purpose Electrical and Electronic Test Equipment to fault-isolate and replace missile launcher electrical and/or mechanical components at the Lowest Replaceable Unit (LUR) level. Personnel in paygrades E-7 and above will supervise the foregoing, organize and monitor system test teams and instruct junior personnel in all aspects of their assigned equipment.
