    Support aircraft maintenance work requiring both FAA airframe and powerplant ratings.

    Eligibility and preparation: Applicants must be at least 18 and able to read, write, speak, and understand English. For both ratings, qualify through 30 months of concurrent practical experience appropriate to both, graduation from an FAA-approved Aviation Maintenance Technician School, or completion of the Joint Service Aviation Maintenance Technician Certification Council course. The FAA evaluates documentary evidence of military experience; avionics duties alone do not establish experience appropriate to both ratings. Written, oral, and practical tests are required.
