Overview
A Signal Operations Support Specialist installs, operates, deploys, maintains, and troubleshoots Army radio and information systems in vehicular and dismounted configurations. The specialist manages IP based radio networks, configures local area networks and routers, maintains antennas and retransmission operations, and services assigned communications equipment, vehicles, and generators.

What the Work Involves
- Report equipment problems, ensure that repairs are made, and make emergency repairs to equipment when necessary and possible.
- Monitor and log transmitter readings.
- Monitor strength, clarity, and reliability of incoming and outgoing signals, and adjust equipment as necessary to maintain quality broadcasts.
- Run appropriate power, ground, or coaxial cables.
- Install all necessary transmission equipment components, including antennas or antenna mounts, surge arrestors, transmission lines, connectors, or tower-mounted amplifiers (TMAs).
