Geospatial intelligence imagery analysts identify, analyze, and report targets observed in satellite and airborne imagery to support unified land operations. They analyze radar, infrared, moving target indicator, light detection and ranging, spectral imagery, geospatial information, and full motion video while producing intelligence for national, theater, and tactical operations.

How to prepare: Practice a written assessment of foreign military capabilities using public sources for DIA's writing test and panel interview. DIA applicants must be U.S. citizens and complete clearance vetting, including background inquiry, drug screening, and any required medical or polygraph examinations.
Interpreting satellite and airborne imagery and producing geospatial graphics transfers to extracting photographic detail and preparing maps.
How to prepare: Build a map from public aerial imagery in ESRI ArcGIS software, documenting feature extraction and final accuracy checks. Before targeting surveying-related photogrammetry rather than general map production, verify the applicable state licensing rules for that scope of work.
